Hello,
my name is Cian O'Dwyer. I am currently doing the level 8 course for Creative Digital Media at TuDublin in Blanchardstown.
Although I am attending Creative Digital Media course I still have a dream to pursue some sort of career in music, whether that be working on a radio show, making jingles for advertisers or even being backing music for big names.
I current play drums and guitar. I play drums for my own band called "Ode Of Men". We are a pop punk/ rock band. We are currently working on our EP. This EP is funded by ourselves.
We rehearse in "Oblivion Studios", every Sunday.
While doing this course and playing drums in a band, I also have a part- time job. I work in "The Carriage House", which is a golf restaurant/ bar in Carton House. I have the title of a waiter. My main duty is bring food orders from the kitchen to the tables. As well as this I also have to polish cutlery using boiling water and vinegar. When the kitchen is closing and I am still working a shift I usually go to the bar and polish glasses. I rarely am allowed to serve pints. The only drink I can serve are Heineken, Peroni and Guiness.
Last year i decide to a Post Leaving Cert course instead of going straight to college. In this year I did a 1 year course study in Music Performance and Sound Engineering. In this course i studied the subjects; Radio Production, Sound Engineering, Music Theory, Music Tech, Music Performance, Music Industries and Ethnomusicology. We performed a big gig in 'The Grand Social' on the 6th of February 2019. It was one of the best nights of my life. I performed two songs. I played acoustic guitar on "I'll never love again" by Lady Gaga. Then I played electric guitar on "Holiday" by Green Day. At the end of the year we were asked to provide music for all three graduations. During these grads I played 'I'll never love again' by Lady Gaga and 'Hotel California' by the Eagles.
After the four years hear at TUDublin, I hope to have a job in either Animation or photography.
As you were,
Cian.
